HURRY HOME ACRYLIC 6X6

"Hurry Home"

Acrylic 6x6

I struggled with this one most of the evening and it just wasn't coming right. Frustration set in and decided to wipe it out. Then, as I did so, I glimpsed something, not quite sure what, it certainly wasn't what I started out to do but I kinda like it......in a not sure why way :)

It's supposed to be rain coming over the Isle of Arran with the yachts hurrying home. Well I like it so I'll add it to my artist's collection....unless someone falls in love with it and twists my arm!

EDGE OF THE VILLAGE ACRYLIC 6X6

Edge of the Village
Acrylic 6x6
not available

I love doing these little rural landscapes of the countryside that surrounds me. You could say they're my comfort blanket. Because I had time off from the easel I'll use them to ease me back into the larger pieces. I nibble at the larger paintings almost every day. So, when I've had a break there is a fear of starting them again until I get my rhythm back.

Thanks for looking in hope your having a great day.

"SPRING GREENS" ACRYLIC 6X8

"Spring Greens"

Acrylic 6x8

A few quiet days to restore the batteries and now back at the easel. It's hard to believe just how quickly everything is turning green. The unusually hot spell we've had, combined with some rain has no doubt been the culprit. Temperatures were more to my liking today.

LANDSCAPE WORK IN PROGRESS....

I'm really enjoying my walks these days cool hazy Spring mornings just the ticket but my oh my have things heated up 24C today..blah!! It's Scotland and it's April, the world's gone wonky and it's too warm for this run for the shade artist. Takes longer to get my chores done when it's like this so was mid afternoon before I got this one started Lot still to do on the foreground but I'm happy with the start.
Have made a break from Facebook which probably won't surprise many readers on here. It has many qualities and I know that some are having great success with it but it's not for me. I find it very distracting and time consuming but I have met some very nice people not to mention creators of wonderful art. I am also most gratful for all the lovely and encouraging comments that people left about my work. Sadly here in Blog world your stuck with me :)
Have a blessed Easter where ever you are x

NEW PHOTO BLOG......

Sorry no painting today had a bit of a disaster with the wee foal study I started. It went into the uglies and plain refused to come out of them. Disappointing but I dare say I'll live and tomorrow is another day. I've been thinking of starting another photo blog. It seems such a shame not to show off some of the hundreds of photographs I take over the year as inspiration and reference for my studio paintings. I don't want to overcrowd this blog with photos but if you would like to see where I get some of my inspiration from check out My Heart is in My Eyes.
Thanks as always for taking a peek...be back soon with another painting.

SCRIBBLE WHILE YOU WAIT......

Tara was due her flu booster and as vets can't always give a time when they'll arrive I usually do my Spring clean in the yard. Well everything was scrubbed, washed and swept, Tara had two plastic carrier bags of winter hair removed and still no sign of J . So, I scooted off home and grabbed my sketch pad and a pencil, didn't get very far but thoroughly enjoyed my doodling. I've also enjoyed my enforced time off line, phone was sorted today...hence the reason I can write this! I've taken longer walks, pottered in the garden, got more work done at the easel (coming soon), house work and I feel more relaxed than I have for ages. Less could definately mean more........few images below to prove Spring has definately arrived in Scotland.

MADE A START AFTER A FRUSTRATING DAY...

Tired and a little bleary eyed but I was determined to have something to post. My plans for today were to have the above finished and posted. But, the best laid plans of mice and men are notoriously thwarted, in this case by computer and phone problems. I will not go into detail but it's safe to say I'm not a sunny bunny and the air in the studio is blue. That said I'm happy with the start to this wee study and will go to bed smiling. Off course the problem has not yet been resolved so there might still be more Celtic fireworks to contend with. Elizabeth emccrindleart@hotmail.co.uk

ANOTHER YEAR OLDER AND A DAY WISER....

My birthday today so I declared it a holiday and stayed out of the studio. Instead I started with a long walk followed by some hours in the garden....a wise move. I feel revitalised ready to get back to work tomorrow.......enjoy the images of my day :)

MY HERO....

Not first past the post yesterday but still number one in everyone's hearts. The going was just a bit fast for him but he jumped beautifully and was clever a couple of times when he needed to be. Have heard on the grapevine, Lucinda's blog that he's fine apart for a small cut, summer holiday beckons :) Elizabeth emccrindleart@hotmail.co.uk

"HANGING CLOUDS" ACRYLIC 6X6

"Hanging Clouds"
Acrylic 6x6
N/A

Been something of a busy week so it was a bit of a relief to sit and paint this wee landscape this evening. Just one of those uncomplicated impressionistic landscapes that seem to drip from the brush.

"DISTANT GOLD" ACRYLIC 6X6

"Distant Gold"

Acrylic 6x6

£150-

Was at Edinburgh today delivering paintings to the Torrance Gallery so was late in starting at the easel. After the horrible wet drive there and back was nice to drift off across summer fields.

Thanks for looking.

I FOUND THEM....

I found the photos of the herd of coloured ponies and foals. After searching through disc after disc with no luck I found the disc filed in a plastic carrier bag filled with old diaries....as you do! Such organisation :) Quality of the images aren't that great as they were taken with my wee Samsung camera but I'll get what I need from them.

Off course the studio is now turned upside down but I'll go to sleep with a smile on my face :)

"STEPPING OUT" ACRYLIC 6X6

"Stepping Out"

Acrylic 6x6

This was a proper monkey to photograph and still isn't quite right, so for now it isn't for sale online. Should have known there would be trouble with it. Had another go painting this study a couple of years back and it ended in bin. I actually took a whole lot of photos at the time I took this. There was a whole herd of colour ponies but can't find the disc. I have an awful feeling it's been discarded when my old computer died, some of the discs wouldn't work on new laptop. Shame as there were some nice ponies on it. Hope your enjoying your weekend and thanks for looking in.
