Another beautiful morning and enjoyable walk to start my day. I know I keep repeating myself but this is truly my most favourite time of year. On mornings such as these the light and colours are so intense. My head feels as if it's going to burst with so many ideas. I love the tracks made by the tractor on the top image, as the round bales are lined up for the trailer to come pick them up. The hogweed in the middle was offset against a part of the field that is left rough to encourage and give shelter and food to wildlife, just the slightess change of tone seperates them. I stopped on the way home to photograph some moos when this fella's head popped up for a nosey over the hedge behind me. More images of him and the moos are filed away for future paintings. A good weekend has been had....hope you all had a good one too.
Thanks for looking in......

What a morning, after yesterday's dreicht but almost humid weather this morning had a definate feel of a cool crisp, fast approaching October. Strong sunshine filtered through a hanging mist. Shafts of pure light changing leaves on the trees and path to precious jewels. A morning to lift the spirit and feel alive. Leaves hitting the ground in front of Buddy and I with a solid thud but not really a sad end. They will in turn rot and fade and give cover and nourishment to the trees that shed them.....full circle.
Other news is I have deleted my art page on Facebook. I had been thinking about it for a wee while now. So, last week I took steps to delete it. You can still view it at the moment as it takes 14 days to delete but I didn't just want to disappear without letting everyone know. I've never really been comfortable in Facebook always so busy. I suppose you could compare it to feeling like a country girl that had moved to the big city. Here I can go at my own pace. I write my Blog for me and if anyone else enjoy's it then that's a bonus...smile! My profile page remains for now and I'll share a link from here for those who have enjoyed my posts. But, for now I'll just enjoy getting back into the routine of sharing my art, photos and rambling on here. I hope you'll enjoy following along..........

Hard to believe that it's just five months since this wee man arrived, it feels as if he has always been a fixture. Mind you don't let that cuteness fool you he can at times be anything but cuddly. Just ask the birds that inhabit the garden. It's his soul ambition in life to keep them slim and fit by chasing them from the bird station. I do think the house sparrows take a pure rise out of him though by sitting just out of reach. And off course he has become quite mesmerised by hedgehogs that have moved in. Have to say I'm delighted to have them back in my garden after many years without them. We always had them in the garden when I was younger but not for a long time. I think the previous fence which was solid made it impossible for them to get in. The new fence it would appear is hedgehog friendly :) This was a local holiday weekend and although being self employed and holidays often become just another day I decided to observe the long weekend. We didn't go anywhere it was just a little down time from the normal. Mostly spent in the garden which is starting to show signs of needing it's winter rest. Cut the grass, probably for the last time till next Spring as rain is being forecast and it just turns into mud after that. The berberis which was well over 6ft got a rather severe haircut and I have the cuts, scratches and skelfs to prove it didn't give in without a fight lol. I have to say I've been feeling a little jaded lately and this weekend amongst the plants and nature has lifted my spirits...can't ask for more than that...smile!

"Blue Sky, Angry Clouds"
This afternoons effort of some puffy but angry clouds doing their best to blank out a summer blue sky. Outside the reality is heavy showers and strong winds, with the long range weather forecast hopeful for the weekend. Feeling cosy in the studio......thanks for dropping by!

Lovely this morning, a proper nip in the air, mist through the trees and spiders webs dripping with dew. Couldn't have asked for anything prettier......thanks for looking in...smile!

"Touch of Autumn, Aberfeldy"
I enjoyed revisiting this one today, did a similar 6x6 a couple of years ago which was a little looser. Might have gone a little too tight but the way I've been painting this last wee while I'm just glad to get something finished. The only way is up....smile!

A little more work done on Buttons slowly but surely and you'll be pleased (as I won't be moaning) to hear I'm quite pleased with how it's progressing. What I'm really enjoying is losing myself in the painting. Not worrying if it's right or wrong but just enjoying it.....that's how it should be!
What a lovely morning we had, sunny but with a wee nip in the air heralding a change. The photo below is just a corner of one of the fields, there are round bales of straw as far as the eye can see. After the last few awful Summer's the farmers must be so happy. Full barns and surplus to sell on...smile! Bottom photo reminds us that Autumn is fast approaching with the first of the leaves being shed. Buddy was having fun picking them up or trying to catch those that were fluttering down, he's such a live wire....smile!

I'm having a very frustrating time at the moment desperate to paint but finding it hard to get into a flow. Everything I've touched has been rubbish, I stepped back for a bit but get into a state of agitation at not producing. I had a 6x6 board sitting on the easel that had been not one but three attempts at a landscape. Painted over in a bright blue I looked at it as I was preparing for bed. When all else fails go back to a tried and tested....horses. Well in this case pony, my friend Lynn's rather rotund mare Buttons (she came with the name). The paint flowed and although it isn't finished and might never be it's a start. If you see a lot of unfinished horses over the next few weeks, you'll know why....smile!
