"Heavyweight Sky" Acrylic 6" x 8"

"Heavyweight Sky"
Acrylic 6" x 8"
£225

Well we sprung forward this morning as we entered British Summertime. Sun is shining but their will be nae casting of cloots for a wee while yet. In fact it was a bit balky this morning walking the dogs. I am though, much looking forward to the longer daylight hours....smile! Today was spent labelling and wrapping the work that I'll be taking to Edinburgh tomorrow. It's the Spring Exhibition at the Torrance Gallery opening this Saturday 5th April and closing on the 11th May.
The wee landscape above is one of four that will be going...smile!

Delivering to Aberfeldy....

Got a beautiful day to drive up with paintings to Aberfeldy. Scenery was stunning though I was quite surprised with how much snow there still was, made for nice photos. Popped into Dunkeld on the way home and took the furry ones for a wee walk and met some bambi's. Thought there might be hysterics from my pair but they never even gave them a second look......

This little one is also taking part in the Aberfeldy Gallery's Spring show. In fact I had to rush it through yesterday. When I was wrapping I realised that one of the paintings I was taking had already been to the Gallery. Old age as they say doesn't come itself...smile!
I sometimes look in amazement at these little seascapes I produce now. It wasn't long ago when I would never have considered them, thinking they were beyond me. Well maybe not beyond me but I never thought of myself as having an affinty with the sea. Just goes to prove if you don't try you don't succeed.
Thanks for looking.....

"Spring Bouquet" Acrylic 6" x 8" on a rather cold morning.....

"Spring Bouquet"
Acrylic 6" x 8"
£225-
Spring bouquet seemed the perfect choice as a name for this wee gem. It will be heading of up North tomorrow with three others to take part in the Aberfeldy Gallery's Spring Exhibition. The preview is this coming Saturday 29th March. Come to think of it, it would also make a lovely Mother's Day gift for someone's Mum (www.aberfeldygallery.co.uk). So, get yourself up there you can't give a more original gift than a painting.
Have to say the buds might be on the shrubs and trees but it was a tad chilly on this morning's walk. As you can see by the image below Arran is wearing a little dusting......thanks for looking in!

Happy Spring Equinox

"And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest."
~Percy Bysshe Shelley

Hasn't quite arrived yet high winds and heavy rain but it's around the corner....I know it is...smile!

"There's a Squall Coming" Acrylic 6"x6"

"There's a Squall Coming"
Acrylic 6"x6"
£180

It feels like an age since I've painted so it also feels good to have one off the easel. It's quite a wild and sqaully day out with heavy skies much like the painting, and, hence the title. Sometimes they come straight into my head right away other times I have to keep looking at the painting until a name comes!
Thanks as always for looking in I'm off now to enjoy what's left of the weekend....smile!

My get up and go...

.....would appear to have got up and went. Only five paintings completed and we are almost half way through March. I need to take drastic measures to get my concentration focused on what's important...producing the goods. I know the biggest culprit is time wasting on social media, namely Facebook. On the one hand everywhere you read tells you, you need to have a presence in social networks. But it's so distracting to the point your spending more time there than at the easel. There is so much wonderful art out there to see it becomes an addiction. I'm not and never will be a prolific artist, so I have to get to a point where three quarters of my time is spent creating and the other quarter networking. It's not going to be easy but it has to be done. So if I'm not on Facebook as often as in the past you'll know why, I'm working on something new to share. Started this wee doodle on Tuesday in desperation to have something on paper. Worked some more this evening and I already feel much better in myself.
Thanks for looking in and listening to my moans and groans....smile!

Normal service has resumed.....

Was absolutely delighted to discover today that I can now go back to using my Blog as I have always done. It really bugged me something rotten that I was being 'forced' into using Google Chrome. But, today when I tried I was able to get to my blog through my normal Internet Explorer browser.
I know progress can at times be a good thing but I really don't do well with change and like to plod along at my own pace....smile!
