Made it back to the Easel today......

.....was a little disheartened with my effort today until I looked at it again this evening. I sometimes think we artist's can be a little hard on ourselves, so I'm going to cut myself some slack and say it has potential. It's glaringly obvious that the fenceline is too dominant but that's fixable. I pushed the mountain back a little with a blue glaze and might do more glazes on it....yep one to set aside for another day...when I figure out the!

Starting and stopping....

Been something of a starting and stopping kind of a year. So in keeping with that I've started yet another painting at 10" x 12" it's a wee bit bigger than the normal for me. Note to self order larger brushes as this feels very finicky with my usual one's. Hopefully when you look in tomorrow I'll have more to show....if not I'll be stopped again!
Thanks as always for looking!

"Golden Summer" Acrylic 5" x 7"

"Golden Summer"
Acrylic 5" x 7"

There has been  a wee 5" x 7" frame lying in the studio for quite a while now. An error on my part when placing an order with my framer. Anyways today I cut a piece of MDF to fit the frame and painted a sunny wee landscape on it. Looks quite lovely in it's frame and would bring a little bit of sunshine to someone's dark corner of the room.

With Summers best of weather
And Autumn's best of cheer."

Yesterday was a good day.....

Yesterday was a good day, I took a wee batch of paintings down to the Framework Gallery in Troon to be framed. Had a nice wee chat with Peter about art and discussed what would suit the paintings. A frame can kill or enhance a painting and I know my work is in good hands. They will also be hung in the Gallery when framed. On the way home I stopped for a walk along the beach at Barassie. It was a glorious day and warm for September with only a wee breeze wafting in from the sea....most!
TODAY.....I find myself wondering why I ever thought I could paint...nuff said!

Work in progress....a bonnie foal

Roughed in study of a stunning foal born this year at Rosalyn Serex's Solaris Sport Horses Balhaldie Farm. A friend on facebook, Ros, her husband and family breed the most stunning foals. Each years foals seem to surpass the last. This year is no difference and this stunning black colt with four white socks ( now named Just Jet SSH) has stood out from the moment I first saw his photos. Many thanks to Ros for allowing me to work from her images.
I suppose you could call this a re-cycled painting as it was originally a wee landscape. One of those that there was something not quite right about it. So, it found itself in the pile of discarded painting's destined to be gessoed and painted over. Waste not want!
I'm also playing nurse at the moment to wee Buddy who was at the vet yesterday. Nothing serious, well as a female I would probably say that...snip, snip and it was all over ;)
