Holly's Eye

Bit of a yucky day weather wise here, so did a bit of doodling in the comfort of the studio. Working in pencil from photos I took a few years back. The subject is a lovely wee driving/show pony called Holly. She'll have one of those long double barrelled names for the show ring but at home she's just Holly. As with most animal portraits whether in paint or pencil I start with the eye. Not an awful lot done but I'm looking forward to picking up where I left off tomorrow.

Similarly, on the West Coast of Wales, fog was replaced by rain ... then fog ... then both together ... whilst the other half of the UK was bathed in sunshine.

Holy's eye is showing great promise of things to come, I shall observe with interest and anticipation.

Meanwhile I will continue my battle to move from acrylics to oil.

It's a little brighter today hopefully look enough for me to cut my hedge. Many thanks for the for the comments about Holly's Eye have progressed a little this morning but shall wait until this evening when perhaps I'll have done more.
Changing the medium you use is always hard with me it was changing from oils to acrylic. It feels as if you've never lifted a paint brush in your life but is rewarding when the penny finally drops.
