"The Path I Walk" Acrylic 12" x 12"

"The Path I Walk"
Acrylic 12" x 12"
£425

My heart wasn't in my painting yesterday it was filled with such a sadness for those affected by the terrible loss of life in Manchester. My heart and tears are for those families who have lost loved ones and for those who are still in hospital whose lives will never be the same again.
I made myself paint this morning, to get back a sense of the peace I felt when I started this on Monday. On mornings when I walk this path with the dogs I find an inner peace, I hope all those feeling sad today can find that same peace in this painting. Love to all X

Work in Progress...

Had a late start getting to the easel this afternoon but all in all was happy with where I finished today on this new painting. Can honestly say painting this path that I walk with the dogs most mornings left me soothed in much the same way as the walk does. The dappled light through the trees and the birds singing their songs helps to calm me.

Delivering to the (new) Aberfeldy Gallery

Towards the end of last year Judy the owner of the Aberfeldy Gallery told us that she had decided to retire and was putting the gallery up for sale. Though delighted for Judy getting her well deserved retirement myself and I'm sure the other regular artists were hoping against hope that whoever bought the gallery would keep it as a gallery. Well as luck would have it it was bought by a lovely young couple Anna and Adam Seward and will have it's opening exhibition on the 27th of this month.
Yesterday I made the trip up with four paintings and got to meet Anna and her parents. The gallery is looking very bright and welcoming and they will be starting to hang their first exhibition over the next couple of weeks.
The dogs were delighted to get a walk in the Birks of Aberfeldy, such a joy to see the fresh new vegetation though it just goes to show how lacking in water we have been with not much water coming over the falls (it is making up for it today, I'm sure that a months rain has fallen this morning). On the way back home I popped into Dunkeld where they got another walk this time through the ancient woods behind Dunkeld Cathedral and then alongside the River Tay. There was a nice wee breeze that kept it pleasant.
Back at the easel today my creative juices have been replenished by the beauty of nature's jewels...smile!

Green Shore and Castle, Ayr...

Was delivering paperwork to Ayr yesterday and I took advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having with a walk along the beach at Greenan. Buddy enjoyed himself but I think Lilly was having a hard time with the deep soft sand...wee short legs...smile!

This mornings walk...

Click on the images to see them larger...

Was a glorious morning for our walk, blue skies, slight breeze and even some heat. Hat and jacket discarded and now down to a bodywarmer, must truly be Summer. Well for today anyway lol. It's amazing how at this time of year the countryside can change completely from almost barren countryside to sprouting everywhere. And the bird song it's like walking to Classic FM. Aww and the wee bunny, there were actually three of them. Unfortunately I didn't see them on the path until the last moment by which they had already clocked me and headed for the rough. This one was nearest the path and I was quite sad to see the fear in it's eye when I put these up on the screen. Loved it's little powder puff tail.
Well been busy in the garden this morning and have to say now starting to feel my aches and pains, old age doesn't come itself...smile!

The call to Spring seems to be louder, sweeter, more siren like, than ever before.
The longing to get closer to nature, fills the heart. ~ M.F. Canfield
